Lies You May Have Heard About Heart Disease

Why hasn’t this story about heart disease been told before? Once it has been told, why are not more people shouting in outrage at the doctors?

It has been told, but it was hard to hear! The most likely reason you didn’t hear it is because you have depended on your doctor for new medical information and your doctor so firmly believes the lies he has been told that he had no attention out in the market-place of ideas, looking for alternatives to drugs and surgery for heart problems.

Lie #1

You may have been told, and you may believe that

“. . . people have always died from heart disease . . .”

That is not true!

The truth is that 150 years ago heart disease was completely unheard of. NO ONE died from heart disease 150 years ago. Autopsies from that period would have found the very easily observed evidence of heart disease. They found none! 1.

Lie #2

You may have been told, and you may believe that . . .

” . . . .the only reason people didn’t die of heart disease 150 years ago is that they didn’t live long enough. They HAD the beginning of heart disease, but died earlier from some other problem.”

That is not true!

The truth is that heart disease IS A NEW DISEASE! Even though the average length of life 150 years ago was much less than it is now, there were millions of people who did live past sixty. They “lived long enough to get heart disease — but they didn’t get it!”
None of those people died of heart disease even when they lived to be in their seventies!

Lie #3

You may have been told, and you may believe that . . .

” . . . . the problem of heart disease is being solved by modern medicine . . .”

That is not true.

The truth is that the problem GETS WORSE as you get older. The truth is that no less an organization than the American Heart Association has been claiming that heart disease is being solved by modern medicine, but the President of the American Heart Association has admitted that his group has been misleading the American public for years and that the problem is getting worse.

The chances of dying of heart disease increase very rapidly with age now, while that was not true 150 years ago. People over 65 years old now are now almost 100 times more likely to die from heart disease than those between 25 and 44.

Lie #4

You may have been told, and you may believe that . . .

” . . .by-pass surgery or drugs are your only answer, and that they are effective . . .”

That is not true!

The truth is that by-pass surgery kills an average of 5.7% of the patients on the operating table, and more within a few months. The truth is that even respectable medical journals are now carrying articles that say that life expectancy does not increase after by-pass surgery. The truth is that certain doctors make millions of dollars every year from this medical malpractice.

The truth is that by-pass surgery has become the single most common form of major surgery in the United States, and thousands of doctors have gotten rich from doing them. Some estimates put the annual take at more than $20 billion.

The truth is that most heart drugs harm you more than they help. The only one who profits from the drugs are the doctors and drug companies.

Lie #5

You have been told, and you may believe that . . .

” . . . .there are miracle drugs which prevent or cure heart disease — or at least control heart disease . . .”

That is false!

The truth is that our nation is being drugged into apathetic submission with the knowledge of certain Government agencies, including the FDA, which are controlled from behind the scenes by people who are terrorized at the thought that the public might find out the truth about their crimes!

ALL drugs are poisons of some sort! Some are more harmful than others. Some are extremely harmful.

1. See the book review of Dr. Kenneth Cooper’s book, Controlling Cholesterol, in the Bibliography. The review of his very misleading book, full of lies, includes a quote of him claiming that “killer cholesterol” has been the cause of death always, but just not recognized. there is no book I’ve reviewed which tells the drug story more assertively. Insider Secrets Of Preventing And Reversing Heart Disease

If you are reading this, it is possible that you or someone you know or love may need help for their heart! Here’s to a healthy heart!

EAT FISH TWICE A WEEK

Heart disease is quite uncommon among people who eat lots of fish. Certain unsaturated fatty acids unique to fish are thought to be responsible for this protective effect. Eat at least four ounces of fish a week. Best: Rich, oily species like bluefish, mackerel, tuna and Salmon, but before you ingest whatever kind of fish you choose, you would be wise to make sure that fish is not contaminated with any chemicals. Whether you realize it or not, our environment has been compromised over and over. What about fish-oil supplements? There’s little evidence that they’re beneficial.

ALCOHOL AND ASPIRIN

Study after study has proven that an occasional drink raises levels of HDL cholesterol (that is your “good cholesterol”). Men whose HDL is below 30 should consider having one or two drinks daily (one if you’re a woman). One drink equals a glass of wine, a shot of distilled spirits or 12 ounces of beer. A sip of alcohol or one drink a day for women, can significantly reduce your risk of heart disease, especially when in combination with healthful eating habits, (more is not recommended) because too much alcohol raises the risk of other diseases that affect your liver or causes cancer. Low-dose aspirin therapy-one-half tablet a day-is proven to prevent heart attacks in those who have heart disease. Aspirin may also be beneficial for individuals at risk for heart disease. That includes men over 50 and postmenopausal women. There’s no evidence that preventive aspirin therapy is beneficial to people with healthy hearts. Word of Caution: If you’re allergic to aspirin, have ulcers or are prone to digestive bleeding, aspirin therapy is not for you. Consult your physician as to other alternatives.

CONSIDER TAKING ANTIOXIDANTS

Cholesterol damages arteries when it has been oxidized, via a chemical reaction analogous to rusting. Fortunately, the body has enzymes that prevent oxidation by “mopping up” the unstable molecules (free radicals) that cause oxidation. Three antioxidant nutrients – vitamins C and E and beta-carotene – give this natural defense system a big boost, especially when taken in combination. Sufficient levels of beta-carotene can easily be obtained by eating green and yellow vegetables, and vitamin C is abundant in citrus fruits. But it’s hard to get much vitamin E from dietary sources, so start taking a daily supplement but research what quantities are enough for you, or ask your physician.

WHAT ABOUT OTHER SUPPLEMENTS?

There’s been much less research on chromium than on the “big three” antioxidants. But in one study, volunteers took 200 micrograms of the mineral three times a day. Results: Levels of protective HDL cholesterol rose by 16%. That translates into 20% reduction in the risk for heart disease. If your HDL levels are below 30, and it cannot be raised via weight loss, exercise or moderate alcohol consumption, ask your doctor about taking, chromium supplements.

Important Note for Diabetics:

Glucose tolerance factor (GTF) seems to be safer than the more popular supplement, chromium iodinate. In another study involving more than 15,000 physicians and researchers, it was found that those whose blood contained high levels of the amino acid homocysteine were more likely to have a heart attack. Homocysteine seems to damage artery walls and promote clotting. To keep homocysteine levels down: take a daily supplement containing vitamins B-6 and B-12 and folic acid.

MEDICAL TESTS AND LAB -WORK-UP

Your blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar should be checked each time you have a physical exam. However, if you are diabetic, a blood profile and A1C should be checked every three months. Moreover, you should have an electrocardiogram with each check-up. Stress tests aren’t necessary unless you’re having chest pains or other heart disease symptoms.

Best Diet Plan For Heart Patients

Heart disease kills millions of people annually. There are factors that we cannot control, but put us at increased risk for heart disease. These factors include increasing age, being male, and having a family history of heart disease. Fortunately, one of the things that we can control when it comes to heart disease is eating a heart-healthy diet. This diet is good for everyone, not only people who have heart disease.

Choose foods that are low in saturated fats and trans fats – Saturated fats are most often found in dairy products, as well as coconut and palm oil. choose unsaturated fats, but you still want to make sure that you are not eating too much fat. Unsaturated fats are found in foods such as nuts and seeds, olive and canola oil, safflower and soybean oils.

High-sodium diets are the enemy of a healthy heart. It is essential that you keep your sodium intake as low as possible. For starters, cut down on sodas (including diet sodas), salty snacks and any other obviously-salty items.

Next to salt, sugar is your second-biggest enemy for your post-heart surgery diet. Avoid all products with high doses of sucrose, high fructose corn syrup and other sugars. Doing so will be much easier on your heart.

Increase your fiber intake – We should be getting twenty-five to thirty-five grams of fiber every day. Fiber is beneficial in promoting regularity, lowering cholesterol, and controlling blood sugar levels. You will find fiber in fruits and vegetables, whole-grain breads, and in beans and bran to name a few.

For the plan to produce results, it’s important to keep hydration levels up by drinking plenty of water: 6-8 cups is recommended. This also aids digestion. Some concerns about this diet stem from the restricted levels of calories and nutrition. As the calories provided in this diet are so low, it’s is likely that followers will feel hunger pangs and lower energy levels, especially by the third day. Vitamins and minerals are also low so that probably a multi vitamin supplement should be recommended as an additional source.

The cabbage soup diet is a great morale booster. And you don’t just eat cabbage soup either. You get a set food plan for each of the seven days of the plan. Over the week you get a variety of foods including fruits, vegetables, meats, even bananas one day. Plus all the soup you want each day. And you can vary the soup to suit your tastes. Cabbage soup isn’t necessarily bland. You can spice it up as you like.

But alas, no pastries or bread for the week. No brownies, peanut butter cookies or sweet potato casserole! No sweet desserts. But it wouldn’t be a diet without a little hardship would it.

Almonds and Cholesterol – Are Almonds a Heart-Healthy Snack

Almonds and Cholesterol: Are Almonds Really a Heart-Healthy Snack?

It seems that many people are experiencing confusion over almonds and if they should or shouldn’t be included as part of a heart healthy diet. On one hand, almonds are reported to lower bad LDL cholesterol. On the other hand, almonds are a calorie-dense food that’s also high in fat.

Numerous studies, including one by the British Journal of Medicine, has shown convincing evidence that regular almond consumption helps lower bad LDL cholesterol. And not just any LDL, but it’s been shown to reduce the small dense LDL particles that do the most damage to your arterial walls and puts you at a much higher risk of cardiovascular disease.

So what about the question of almonds being high in fat? Over 60% of the fat content in almonds is monounsaturated fats. (This is the same type of fat that is found in olive oil.) Monounsaturated fat is widely accepted to be a key ingredient to reducing the risk of heart disease and part of a heart-healthy diet.

But the health benefits of almonds doesn’t stop with having healthy natural fat and it’s ability to lower low-density lipoproteins. Almonds pack an antioxidant punch with it’s high levels of Vitamin E. And with over 60 mg of magnesium in a quarter-cup of almonds, that’s just more good news for your heart. You see, magnesium has been shown to help improve blood flow and make things ‘easy’ on your veins and arteries. (Translation: Less stress and work for your heart.)

Concerned about adding too many calories if you start eating almonds? Truth is, almonds have been shown to be beneficial at helping aid weight loss. But if you are just a little too ‘scared’ to add more calories, do this…

Substitute almonds for other foods vs. adding almonds to your existing diet. In fact, it’s been estimated by some researchers based on date from a Nurses Health Study that replacing carbohydrates with healthy nuts like almonds may low the risk of heart disease by as much as 30%. The risk may be lowered as much as 45% if you substitute nuts with saturated fats like those founds in meat and dairy.

Looking for some ways to add almonds to your diet? Try these…

– Add almonds to your salad instead of meat or croutons
– Add to your morning cereals (hot or cold)
– Add to yogurt for a tasty crunch
– Add sliced almonds to vegetable dish (great with green beans)
– Eat with a sandwich as a crunchy substitute for chips
– Two words: Almond butter!

And not surprising, eating almond as a “whole food” is optimal for maximum health benefits. The antioxidant punch mentioned previously is more than doubled when the skins are combined with the meat of the almond, compared to either one separately.

Liver Enlargement – Causes And Home Remedies

Liver enlargement

Liver enlargement is usually an indicator of liver disease, although there are usually no symptoms associated with a slightly enlarged liver. Symptoms of a grossly enlarged liver include abdominal discomfort or “feeling full.”

The liver is involved in many bodily functions, and is affected by a variety of conditions, many of which result in hepatomegaly. General causes include infection (viral, bacterial, or parasitic), malignancy (cancer or tumors), anemias, storage diseases, heart failure, congenital heart disease, toxins, and metabolic disturbances. If the liver becomes enlarged enough that it can be palpated below the costal margin, the patient may have hepatomegaly. The diagnosis must be confirmed by an imaging study of the liver.

Causes of Liver Enlargement

The following medical conditions are some of the possible causes of Enlarged liver :-

o Liver cirrhosis
o Alcoholic liver cirrhosis
o Liver abscess
o Liver cysts
o Hydatid cyst of the liver
o Budd-Chiari syndrome
o Fatty liver
o Hepatitis
o Viral hepatitis
o Hepatitis A
o Hepatitis B
o Chronic hepatitis B
o Hepatitis C
o Chronic hepatitis C
o Autoimmune Hepatitis
o Brucellosis
o Primary biliary cirrhosis
o Right heart failure

Home Remedies for Liver Enlargement

*Take 50 grams of white radish leaves and stem, add sugar candy in it and drink it every morning with empty stomach.
*Drink spearmint juice with added sugar for 10 days.
*Take juice of 2 oranges empty stomach for 5-7 days.
*You can also take long brinjals (Eggplant) daily; it helps in restore the liver to its original position.
*You should take papaya, because it is useful in Liver Enlargement.
*Mix 300ml of carrot juice with 100 ml spinach juice or cucumber juice and have it daily.
